The rear seat lap belt is fitted with an automatic retractor. Holding the retractor by hand, pull out until the webbing is fully extended and insert the lach plate into the buckle. |
| Both front seats are equipped with a UNIBELT system which uses a single belt and an emergency locking retractor. This system is designed to provide maximum comfort and safety by permitting full extension and automatic retraction of the belts during normal vehicle operation. In an emergency involving an abrupt change in vehicle motion a sensing device in the retractor will automatically "lockup" the belt retractor. |

The belt is easily released by pushing the button on the buckle. Then while holding the running latch plate, let the retractor coil the belt until stored snugly in the retractor case. Be careful not to twist the belt. |

| After adjusting the seat, slide the running latch plate and pull the shoulder belt out of the retractor a sufficient length to permit normal buckling. Push the latch plate all the way into the buckle. An audible "click" will be heard when the latch plate is fully engaged. The retractor return springs will snug the seat belts to the body. |

Then release the belt, and the webbing with the latch plate is automatically retracted till the belt fits the wearer snugly and is locked in place. |
