Cold Starting   Engine Warm   Flooded Engine

To start a warm engine:     Depress the accelerator pedal fully and hold to the floor until engine starts.
To start a cold engine:

1)  Depress and hold the accelerator pedal one-third of the way while cranking.
1)  Depress the accelerator pedal to the floor and release; this sets the automatic choke.
Never pump the accelerator pedal.
2) Turn the ignition key to "START" position, then release the key and the pedal when the engine starts.
2) Turn the ignition key to "START" position and release when the engine starts.     Note:
The starter should not be operated for periods longer than 30 seconds. A waiting period of at least one minute between such periods should be observed to protect the starter from overheating and damage.
3)  After the engine has been running smoothly, for about 13 seconds, tap the accelerator pedal to reduce the fast idle speed.

EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER (BELOW 0 F) OR AFTER CAR HAS BEEN STANDING FOR SEVERAL DAYS:

Where it is necessary to warm up the engine for an extended period, make sure there is no waste paper or any other combustible matter near the rear end of the exhaust pipe.
Note:
Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal several times before cranking the engine.
When the temperature is 80°F (26°C) or more and the automatic choke does not function (when the idling speed is low), depress the accelerator pedal slightly to keep the engine running smoothly until it warms up.
With foot off the accelerator pedal, crank the engine by turning the key to "START" position and release when the engine starts. Allow the engine to run for approximately 30 seconds before engaging transmission.
    Refilling Gasoline

The fuel filler is located on the rear left of the body.
If engine is cold and the temperature is below 0°F (-18°C), depress the accelerator pedal slowly to the floor several times, release the pedal fully, and start the engine.

Insert the key into the fuel lid and turn counterclockwise to unlock the lid. Remove the filler cap by turning counterclockwise, and fill.

To close, tighten the cap firmly, remove the key and lightly push the lid into position.
